Here’s something just guaranteed to give those legions (well, the odd right-winger anyway) of ABC-haters the screaming meemies.

The ABC has leapt further into the digital media age, announcing a 24/7 “continuous news centre” and more than 60 new websites pushing local news to regional communities.

All for no more than the existing eight cents a day, according to MD, Mark Scott. One wonders though, are the staff in regional areas genuinely enthused with being told they need to learn new skills to accomodate this techo expansion, for no doubt, the same pay?
