Time will tell in the case of the Queensland election, but at 9:00pm on election night, it looks highly likely that Queensland is headed to either a slim Labor governmental comeback, or as I fervently hope, a hung Parliament.
Clearly this man, this pretender to the throne of public governance, is not only a gross embarrassment to his own political colleagues, but a gross embarrassment and outright abuser of the people he purports to lead. Abbott is so clearly out of touch with the Australian consciousness it’s uncomfortable to even contemplate what might have driven him to afford the consort to the monarchy of a foreign nation pseudo-citizenship by inferring a citizens-only honour, on Australia Day of all days. Then, to further compound the insult to the Australian people, he calls their digital voice – social media, to which we’re […]
So….David Leyonhjelm reckons that Sydney hostage business wouldn’t happen….sorry, PROBABLY wouldn’t happen, in Texas or Florida. He clearly didn’t do his research, which at the very least should have consisted of a Google on the terms “Hostage Situations Texas” and “Hostage Situations Florida”.
Yet again we see the IPCC telling us what we already know to be fact. We – the human species – need to stop digging up, drilling for and otherwise liberating fossil fuels as the major driver of our energy production. As Ban Ki Moon said, the science is in, and it is irrefutable Meanwhile, the nihilists, corporate sycophants, pseudo-religious fruitcakes and plain ignorant refuse to accept that unlocking millions of years of stored carbon in less than a millennium is having an irreversible, detrimental impact on the planets’ delicate biosphere. Sure, the planet will recover eventually, once the species liberating […]
Salacious title for a contentious post, I know, but as someone who is currently sucking off the public teat through no fault of my own, I feel it both timely and pertinent that I make comment on the current and proposed Job Services Provider platform and the proposed post 1 July 2015 New Employment Services model announced earlier today by this individual.
Lets start a program of revelation of the individual we all know as David William Nicholson Thiessen.
”There is no right to demand from your fellow Australians that just because you don’t want to do a bread delivery or a taxi run or a stint as a farmhand that you should therefore be able to rely on your fellow Australian to subsidise you”. So says Eric Abetz as he attempts to defend the conservative axing of existing newstart arrangements. Thing is, this is oh-so very typical of the conservative mindset which is, as a matter of course, out of touch with reality at the coal-face for the unemployed. Newstart doesn’t simply exist as a salve to leftist consciences, […]
I will rarely promote the works of another blogger, basically because there are very few pieces of writing in the ‘sphere I regard as worth promoting. This piece, however, runs counter to my usually jaundiced opinion of the amateur journalist cadre. Glenn Murray may consider his tome to be just his ramblings, but I find this particular ramble well worth supporting. Kudos, Mr Murray!
Let’s be perfectly clear from the outset.
How is it possible for a nation’s economic structure and four year outlook to fall off a cliff in six months?
